How do I make my hair thinner?

I don't want to go to the salon and get any chemical treatments. But I can't blow dry it either because that makes it really big and frizzy. I have thick long curly hair by the way.

OK you asked....When We as hairdressers thin out hair it is more for volume than to really 'THIN OUT THE HAIR'....by cutting the hair with a thinning shears you are literally making shorter hairs make longer hairs stand up and out....think about it....before I was a hairdresser when I was a kid I had so much hair that my Mom would tell the hairdresser to thin my hair out till I figured it out by myself that my hair looked bigger than before my hair thinning! I looked like a wild woman! So the best thing to do, I my opinion, is to have your Mom run a perm through your hair without using the perm rods.....you just comb down straight for the amount of time it says to keep the perm solution on the head and the same for the neutralizer....except I like to dry the hair after I rinse the perm solution out of the hair, in order to apply the neutralizer....and again combing the hair straight while the neutralizer is on the hair. OR go to a salon and get a very large rodded perm.....re-curl your curls, but larger.

You can't make your hair thinner. Usually if you have darker hair your hair strands are thicker then people with light hair. You will just have to make your curls look fantastic.
