It doesn't really matter. Generally, though, you will get straighter hair if you use the smaller flat iron because you will spend more time and be more meticulous about doing it. However, if you can, it is nice to have a bigger iron for the day when you are running late.

go with the 1.5 unless you want to be able to curl your hair and flip the ends... for that go with the 1 inch. I have short hair just below my chin and i have used both the 1inch is better on the shorter hair unless you want to do more than just straighten

I would say a bigger size because the smaller sizes are for shorter, thin hair.

it really doesnt matter all that much. but a ceramic straightner is best and less damaging to the hair!
