when you shampoo, condition and do not rinse all of the conditioner out....just rinse about half way

then blow dry half way

then mousse as directed with whatever mousse you want to try, they all do the same thing anyway

then finish blow drying while combing it straight....no more poof!

Im a girl, but my hair is to my shoulders, I have thick, curly hair, and it poofs alot! First off, when you get your haircut ask them to thin your hair. I use a product from BedHead called Cat Fight, its like a thick gel in a small, shiny blue, circular container. I like to use it when i leave my hair down and it works well but it starts to almost "peel" after a while. But definetly look into BedHead products if you want to keep your hair under control.

Sounds like my brother. His hair is thick and it poofs out after it dries. You need to buy something like SilkTherapy or an anti-frizz product that will weigh your hair down. I also have a curly-haired friend, who, without her anti-frizz product, would look like a french poodle without it. Go into one of those beauty places. Around here in California we have Planet Beauty and have fun talking to one of the cute girls that will most likely help you. Tell her your problem and I'm sure she'll be happy to make you a come back customer.

A good conditioner (creme rinse). For some reason, a lot of guys don't use it. Long shiny hair can be sexy- long ratty hair is not!

I have rather coarse hair, and Redken So Soft conditioner has done wonders for it. It's kind of on the spendy side- $26 for about 34 ounces, but it'll last you a few months. Totally worth it.
