How to deal with thick dry brittle and totally unmanagable African American Hair?

Okay is their any product without getting a relaxer that can really give African American hair bounce and sheen and to make it super managable? My hair right now doesnt move it and i want it to move some what like if my hair was relaxed thats my biggest issue. But any suggestions to make my hair more easier to manage but more importantly to make it move. Please help me.

I'm in my late 20's and I do not have a relaxer. Go to a black hair place and get your hair washed and flat ironed, get your ends clipped and that should do the trick. Most people assume I have a relaxer just because of the way my hair looks, but they don't know what it looks like when it's not straightened. Ever night before you go to bed, wrap your hair and put on a scarf or doo rag. I get my hair flat ironed once about every two weeks, but sometimes I can go longer if I take good care of it. Your hair isn't unmanageable, you just don't know what you are doing with it.

Perhaps you could make it really short because I think it's not going to move unless you get a weave or wear a wig. I have seen people put relaxers in their hair and I am sure it makes their hair fall out.

You didn't say but I'm thinking that you want to straighten your hair. Why are you against a relaxer? But since you are, you probably should invest in a really good straightening iron. A Chi Iron might really work for you. If your hair is dry and brittle you probably need to try a new routine for maintaining your hair. Try washing it more often, while deep conditioning every time. And when you deep condition, try putting on a shower cap and sitting under a hooded hairdryer for 15 minutes.

Please don't let people tell you that a relaxer will make your hair fall out because regular and proper maintenance goes hand and hand with a relaxer.

Well I am an African American to and I think that you should perm it every other week and straighten it, the weeks between the perm week wash it. There is nothing really wrong with relaxing it. Sometimes if your hair is short it doesn't move. And sometimes if your hair is thick it cant move a lot. So after you straighten it perm it.

A relaxer will not make your hair fall out if you take care of it. Other than that though you will have to straighten it either with a flat iron or getting it pressed(straighting iron). Wrapping it at night helps to keep it straight longer. Make sure you use a deep conditioner when you wash it. You should do that at least every 2 weeks. I would suggest using Bric once a month, it works wonders. I use love it.
